seattle center: What's Next
Location: Seattle, WA
Client: City of Seattle/ Seattle Center Redevelopment
KO Projects was contracted by Seattle Center (a department of the City of Seattle) to develop economic analyses, participatory planning exercises, and overall content to kick off a Century 21 Master Plan update. Our work included a comprehensive value model showing how $13m in annual operating support is the foundation of more than $1.1 billion in annual economic impact, in addition to public and cultural value that reaches throughout the region.
We also developed a participatory ‘puzzle’ for more than 100 participants from across the cultural sector, including arts & culture organizations, city executives, community leaders, and policymakers. The exercise was designed to help participants understand the competing priorities of space use, available capital, and sustainability of operations in the development of the campus’ Northeast Quadrant.
